Before I stump up £500 is there any way to fit this myself (gen 2 cayman)? E.g. just buy the stalk and attach, or is it going to need coding to my car?

Just thought I'd ask before I hand over the readies!

What indy was that?

I am totally new to Porsche so I have no idea where to look.

Depending on location try Northway Porsche @ Reading (who I used) or Wright Tune @ Wallingford - go to their website and they have a page dedicated to retro CC fitments

I sure many other Indies will/can do the same

Interesting as I have just had a quote back from Leeds OPC £550 inc vat, I am sure they will do it a bit cheaper! It's the one thing I miss not having.

Nottingham wanted £520 but came down to £399 if they were to fit it as part of the sale.

Just shows what 'flexibility' they have in some areas.....Good result ?

Sports and Classic are within 30 mins or so of Chester and charge less. Mike's done quite a few, might even be priced on his website.

Thanks for the heads up but there's barely a difference in price. Nice to know they are there though.

I did this a few years back and I have some fairly detailed notes if you want to do it yourself, as others said you'll need the car coded at an OPC with a PIWIS or with by someone with a Durametic Prof.

Email me if you want the instructions.

Cheers, had the work done but PM sent just because I'm curious to know what was actually done.

£480 well spent imo, the car was washed to a high standard and given a health check.

FYI (and if I'm reading the receipt correctly) cruise control stalk £324.94 reduced to £275, steering column cowling £38.05 (jesus!) reduced to £35, £90 labour + 20% VAT = £480.

Email sent.

Fortunately when I did the retrofit Porsche hadn't got so greedy and the stalk was only a few pounds rather than the excessive price it is now! Obviously they wanted to stop people doing the retrofit cheaply by buying the parts separately....

Interesting reading and all good to know.

Porsche Hatfield have come back to me at £580 fitted.

I guess there's some flexibility if I look around?

I have to go official route as need to keep the warranty people happy!

I live in Amersham. Anyone else had a better price?

Thanks in advance.
