A few years back I remember someone making a cigar shaped car they named "the rocket"
It went well and looked the business.
Has anyone seen a second hand one for sale?

Try a search for the Light Car Company I think. They built the Rocket, which was a Gordon Murray Design (he of McLaren fame).

Not sure how many they built to be honest, but they're supposed to be very nice bits of kit.

Hi mate.

I currently work for Chris Craft who was the other partner in the production of the Rocket.

If you need any information call 0208 501 5578 and ask for Chris.

Hope this helps.

GBP44000 or there abouts. Company is based in Farringdon. I can personally vouch for these. One of the stones has one and Jay Lenno bought one a while back and had it shipped out in parts and them assembled by Chris(I think it was Chris anyway). Jay quoted it as the best point to point car next to the his Mac.

If you can buy one, BUY ONE! Ask to speak to the owner and tell them I sent you.

I can make a call to find out if you really want one. My good friend owns the company.

The thing is with these babies, most of the guys that buy them worship Gordan Murray. Also, guys that can afford to blow 44G's or so on a single seater probably won't sell them anytime soon(if ever).

In which case they should by a Fiat 500 which is Gordon's runabout and alleged favourite car ever (and a damned sight cheaper than gbp44k!)

Its a two seater not a single seater. Last one I saw on sale was about 18 months ago in Fulham. It was priced very near to its new price. George Harrison's old one that he demonstrated at Thruxton and Goodwood FoS is to be sold I believe (if it hasn't gone already).

I saw one of these on Tues morning - somewhere between Bournemouth and the M27 - looked really shiny and sorted.
