Whilst it's all kinds of awesome, it's not really needed for the TT stage? Surely the standard 'sportbrake' team car can keep up with the TTers?

It would have been a good publicity stunt for Jaguar if Froome was still in the race and riding the TT to hold/challenge the lead as the F-Type would have been on TV a lot. Now without Froome or any GC contender even if they did actually use the F-Type it would barely appear on TV.

Indeed; months ago when this was planned, the idea was to be following a guy in yellow on almost a victory tour of the TT circuit. Now, the car is bound to get more air time than any of the riders. A shame it didn't work out!
