Your running costs for 1 yr of maserati ownership
Discussion
What has been the running costs of your first year of ownership (or part of ) for your 3200 / 4200 ?
is it what you expected or better / worse ?
and how impressed with the actual "experience" of owning the 3200 / 4200 ?
Just curious to read what other owners have experienced so far ?

Depreciation - fiendish - 10k drop in year 1... (purchase to trade) .. standing by for year two

Rough numbers I would think pa:
Insurance £1k
Tax £0.2k
Service £1k or £1.5k
Tyres £0.8k every two years
Warranty £1.5k
Cost of capital £1k
Depreciation £5k (trade to trade)
Total £10k ish pre margin assuming nothing goes wrong outwith warranty (hah hah hah)
Of course you will get some of these things included in the £5-6k dealer margin and it all depends on when you buy the car in the warranty, service, tyre life cycle.
In my experience the older cars are not much cheaper to run, all up, than newer cars (but not brand new!).

Snap Except i don't use a car wash and it's been about 7 Bottles of Selina.
Ditto for me in the main, tyres, oil, autoglym etc.
Surprised so few people have seem to have had non-routine expense, maybe because you've had things done under warranty?
I've had an electrical gremlin fixed under warranty and paid out for a couple of items not covered by the warranty - a replacement front anti-roll bar drop link at £110 and a blocked vacuum pipe to the MAP senser £8.50. I paid for the parts but they were fitted for free as a good will gesture - I think because the main dealer concerned was a bit ashamed of how long it took them to find the cause of the electrical fault!
Overall not too bad I reckon.
