wires defuser 996 how?
Discussion
I have rigged my lazer defusor up in a subaru and BMW as there were lots of nice holes into the cabin from the engine bay.
But How is the best way of rigging up the wires from the front number plate area to inside the car without messing the car up too much on my 996
Its too well made with no clear holes to poke wires through.
Anyone got experience with this pls.
Thanks

I put a CD changer in the fron of my old 993TT. IT wasn't easy but I managed to find a place.
Its not easy to describe but I'll give it a go from memory. I'm not sure whether the 996 will be the same but anyhow...
If you've got the bonnet open, look to the left hand side up where the bonnet joins the main body work. Right in the corner there (on the 993) there is a heater/sir con pipe which goes inside the car, this is surrounded by a 1-2 cm grommet which is made of hard plastic.
Going into the car (this is a LHD car so everything may be oppersite on the RHD) on the passenger side you have to take out the glove box and there are about 3 pannels which you unscrew and take off. You then get to the other side of the grommet. I drilled a 1 cm hole through this plastic.
The thing is there is always a way through you just have to take things apart a bit to find it. Look where you CD changer goes through etc.

I had some equipment fitted to my 996 and I was told by the fitter that there were gromits they managed to feed the cable through. So it is possible with no metal cutting. Suggest you speak to a mechanic from your OPC to find the route.
If you're concerned about telling them what you're fitting, tell them it's a garage door infra red system. In my case I tell the mechanics how to turn it off for when they do test drives, as the system switches on by default.
