Cabin Cold Air Ducting

Quick question if someone could oblige...

The cold air feeds that go to the cabin on an S have been cut down at some point in the past and now pick up from near the exhaust manifolds!

I'm going to run some more ducting, but can someone tell me where the ducting is meant to run to?

If someone has a picture, that would be most appreciated too.

Should be fairly obvious where they run to at the bonnet end. BlueS3 thread has shots of his set up showing steel tubing in lieu of continuous flexi hosing. Doesn't show the bonnet connections as it was off.

A wrap of muslin over the the hose at the bonnet end will help keep debris from blowing into the cabin.

You should have a pair of these bonded into the nose of the bonnet, at the ends of the top narrower intake, near enough above the indicators.





Personally I find taking the roof off gives me all the fresh air I need

Just done this job myself - using a hair drier helped understand where they all pipe through to, as similar, except cut in odd places! ( Also used decent ducting from CBS - that is high temp resistant and doesn't compress out of shape - that can be an issue when closing the bonnet.)

Personally, I agree with Mike (Philpot). The eyeball vents are not able to direct any air at my face whilst driving, and I usually only drive with roof off anyway, so I cut them off near bulkhead.

A bit tidier in engine bay, not that it makes any difference to me, with my mechanical skills!!

I'm laying mine out to this design. The 'Y' splitters inside the cabin are from a GT6 (38mm OD) and go nicely with vacuum cleaner hose.
There's a few assumptions made here so if anyone spots a mistake please let me know.

I have roof off so removed mine. But Allan just shortened the pipes to vent the brakes - good idea.

I could be wrong but I don't think there is a fresh air inlet on the heater box so not sure where your left hand fresh air pipe is going to. On mine I terminated the hose as close as I could get it to the heater fan inlet. This has dramatically reduced the steaming up in wet weather.
