Things seem to be moving fast in terms of battery prices - we go from articles like this one three years ago:

to this one today:

£19k to just over £3k - those second-hand Leaves are looking more tempting than ever.

Yes, this is significant.
There have been many Leaf owner reports from hot parts of the US (Arizona for example) about significant Leaf battery degradation. Much less of an issue in the UK. My Leaf has 45,000 miles and the battery seems fine.
The new battery is also much more resistant to extreme ambient temperatures, so this is a double win.

Hopefully a similar program will be introduced in the UK to make high mileage Leafs a more attractive proposition.

It only takes a few cells to drastically reduce capacity - it's not a linear drop. So it makes a lot of sense to repair the battery pack by replacing the damaged cells.

The £19k never made much sense anyway, other than providing a sensationalist headline.

£404 to replace one module..... At a dealer £250 of that may have been the battert removal and replacement on the car! You only have to do that once regardless how many modules are replaced.

According to the paperwork for my Zoe, Renault consider the 22kwh battery to have a value of £6k for insurance purposes.

Hopefully this will provide some support to second-hand values
