Picked this up on Saturday, very pleased and it has a warranty on the engine still so touch wood it won't be leaving me stranded.

It drives really nice, just need to get the geo checked as it bump steers a little - not sure if they are all like that...?

Already been tinkering, stripped the shift lights and dash pod surround off and re-secured the usual rattly parts and sorted the wonky gear knob too. Everything else is pretty tidy really!

Let me be the first to congratulate you on your fine purchase, if I hadn't put a deposit down on the red one, that would be in my garage as we speak. ;-)

Good luck with it, and if I make down your way this year we can catch up.

Don't worry, there are plenty of other things beside the engine that can leave you stranded ;-)

Congratulations on the purchase!

If its a Mk1, bump steer is a feature frown

There are things you can do to reduce it and maybe even eliminate it, use the seach on PH and you find lots of stuff

Cogratualtions they are epic cars.

Mine never left me standed but it did leave me:

without aircon
without heating
without headlights
without rear lights
without a rear screen
without a bank balance

I loved very minute of it

Welcome to the very select bunch who can say I own a TVR Tuscan , a very special individual car .
Yes it will infuriate and thrill in equal measure, be careful with the loud pedal and polish it every week.

Thanks all, I'm really enjoying the car. It's such a special thing to sit in and stare at on my drive!

Doest anyone know a really good geo place in the South West?

Thanks, I think TVRSSW are closer - about 140 miles from me. Dom is happy for the car to go there for servicing and honour the warranty too.

congratulations and welcome to the world of TVR ownership.

Tuscans are a special car, had mine for just over 7 years now and although maintenance costs can be high, I love 'her' to bits and will never part company.

Enjoy!

Riiiigghht...

Tried getting to the bottom of a couple problems.

My cig lighter doesn't work, I've checked the fuse but it seems to be fine, is there anything else or is it likely to be a break in the wiring? I don't smoke but I could do with the charging facility for my phone!

Also my blower doesn't seem to be working. Checked the fuse which is fine. When I press the speed button on and twist the knob the lights come on like they should however there is no sign of a fan. When I move the heat control I hear something towards the front of the car, sounds like a motor... I assume this is the flaps that direct the air flow?

What other components should I check to make the blower come back to life?

Cheers!

how does the tuscan compare to your previous cars? i guess its by far the most individual, and i would have thought most involving to drive?

It's such an event to drive. However it's completely refined when pottering around.

Definitely requires a high degree of concentration driving it though. My favourite car to date, I can't think of anything I'd want to replace it with?

I've also just picked up my first TVR Tuscan, miles of smiles, only had it a week and can't get enough.
One massive drawback though, when your in the drivers seat you cant look at it.
