Where will i find my alarm box

I need to get my alarm re coded as I fried my spare key/fob in the microwave and I haven't got the red card. Where do you usually find the alarm box, is it under the top of the dash .Cheers

On my mk1 the M99 alarm unit is in the drivers footwell on the offside wall behind a cardboard kick plate. Remove the cardboard, normally glued in, and carefully pull out the long umbilical cord of wires. You will also get to the M36 immobiliser in there as well. You might want to remove the metal floor panel to ease the access.
