Hello all,

I know TopCats are the recognised experts in LS conversions, but I haven't seen much mention of them for "normal" TVRs.

I recently bought a lovely mk1 Tuscan from minkybob byebye, the Reflex Charcoal one in Cornwall from the classifieds. I knew it was likely to need a clutch in the near future, but was hoping it would last longer than 3 weeks!

Other specialists were talking about weeks until they could do the work (Le Mans prep maybe?), but TopCats managed to fit me at very short notice to sort the clutch, and give the car a thorough once-over. All was well for a few weeks, but unfortunately the new clutch started playing up again... These things happen (bathtub curve and all that); all you can ask for is that the garage deals with situation well. Warren and team diagnosed the issue, fitted a replacement clutch, and returned the car within 2 days of the problem showing up, at no cost to me - you can't ask for better than that!

I've seen some tasty cars up there, possibly belonging to people from here? If so I'll hopefully see some of you at the opening of the new building at the end of the month...

Whereabouts are you Pete? I've known of Topcats for a long time (Warren dropped a card on my Chim while I was living in the pub in Whitchurch) but my car has been laid up for a while whilst moving house etc. Only this last couple of months have I started getting her back in order and the first thing I did was take her to Topcats for a proper service and Geometry setup. Since having her back the transformation in handling is really good, and I'm happy knowing that she's had all the mucky bits done by people with the right tools.

I'll hopefully go along to the opening if I can.

I live in Oxford, and work in Aylesbury.

They didn't know what was exactly was wrong with the clutch, said the friction plate was a bit warped, but that wouldn't have caused the symptoms. They showed me the nearly new clutch they had taken out, which wasn't obviously knackered in any way. It's been perfect since thankfully!
