It was a really weird one, the front end was very different. It was a A reg, green, the front lights were more "modern" looking, almost 996 like. The rear end was i think late model 964 like. Was a convertible.

Any ideas? Special edition of some sort

No light were different. Definitely not a usual 911. I think it may have been a 993 rear actually, but the front was more early boxster shape and slanted downwards.

Or one of the 993 Strosek conversions perhaps?

Sort of like that, but with a more 993 style bumper and if you replaced pop up lights with one which are similar to boxster ones.

Its doing my head in now, was in kensington

If it was A reg, that's 1983/84. Maybe it was a 964 that age, and they had fitted a headlamp upgrade to HIDs or projectors, something like a Singer, or this

Could have been a newer Porsche with a personalised A plate though.

The only thing I can think of that gets anywhere near that description is the Panamericana concept!

Ok, hold the front page, I think I have it! The only car that mixes 996 lights with a car based on the 993 is the 2nd gen GT1.

Must be!

If you get that, make the lights not round but flush with the body, make it Convertible and then give it a rear end like from a 993 gt2 with a slightly smaller spoiler it was basically that. Slightly light surf green.
Thats aboit as accurate as i can describe it. Doing my head in now!!
