2006 C2S key/remote lock reset/'re-pairing'?

Hey all.
I've had this happen before but have forgotten the magic runes.
Car used infrequently (albeit on ctek conditioner). Won't open with remote key button.
Put key in turn take key out - press button. Sorted.
But sometimes, that doesn't work properly, because once in the car (I can't recall if it's engine started or not) the alarm goes off. (maybe key battery related?)
Last time....the OPC told me some magic sequence to reset the key. I think it was along the lines of key in ignition, position one....then hold maybe either the key button for X seconds or press the centre console central locking button for x seconds...then it was all sorted.
Can anyone let me know what I need to do please?

Failing that, call to OPC tomorrow.
