How to carry a helmet when going to the Alps

I'm heading to the Alps at the end of the month and have bought a full face helmet however understand that helmet are good for one impact only and that baggage handlers are not the most caring with bags.

How do you get your full face helmets to the Alps when you travel there?

Not sure about a full face, but with a standard helmet I just carry it as an extra to hand luggage.
No one has ever questioned it, but if they did I guess you could always wear it

Carried mine on as hand baggage when I used to go.

We got away with strapping it to our hand luggage a couple of years ago with Easyjet. I'd definitely check first though as this in theory made the luggage too big.

Can't help with full face but I'd try just carrying it on and then wear it if there's an issue I usually attach my road helmet to my bag and will be doing so tomorrow when I fly out to the Alps

Not a full face helmet, but I have a Giro hard hat bag thing, put it in there and then in the diamond area of the frame , in the bike box and seems fine for me.

Carried my bern watts on with easy jet in march the check in guy said it doesn't count as extra hand luggage as it's clothing same as a hat or a coat

Hand luggage every time for me too, as well as a backpack with useful things in it!

Flying BA and Easyjet hasn't been a problem.

Also makes you look cool.

Just carry it on extra, if anyone questions you put it on and say its part of your religion
