Sticking throttle
Discussion
Anyone had a similar problem?
Throttle cable is fine. Cover plate has been removed, pedal box area all cleaned, all mechanisms lubricated, pedal adjusted, throttle stop set…
Pedal just doesn't want to return to normal after it's been pressed (it does eventually). Makes for embarrassing gear changes.

I had a similar issue and it was where the cable exited through the bracket on the pedal box because of the angle it was being pulled down when the accelerator was pressed the cable was chaffing on the hole in the mount.
If the circular assembly that holds the cable to the pedal linkage is at a bad angle which can happen when as it can rotate as you tighten the 8mm nut it then pushes the cable into the side of the exit hole on the mounting.
I ended up just greasing it and leaving it slightly loose so it could rotate. With a washer and a nyloc nut it will not work itself loose and it allows the cable to hold a better angle through the full range of pedal movement and reducing the stress on the cable as that is where they appear to break most of the time.

I've offered advise on this problem in the past saying that it can be corrosion on the bushes that the pedals pivot on.
My first Tuscan had this.
Having said that my latest Tuscan has the same problem and its not getting any better so I'll be checking out the advice on here at the weekend.
Thanks.
