I don't think one has been started yet, but Just had confirmation we (group of 6 lads weekend away) are staying HERE close to the Langsett reservoir on the A616.
Stage 2 goes past the end of the lane, but as it's slightly down hill there will be going past pretty quick. So we will be heading off to one of the climbs near by to hopefully get a better view.
Where are the rest of the Pedal Power massive staying/spectating over that weekend?

I live close to the route so, Saturday will be at Waddington Airshow and as far away from the chaos as possible 
I may venture out on the Sunday to somewhere nearby just for the sake of seeing the spectacle. I'm an MTBer so not really interested but kinda feel I should see something.

Currently making a plan for stage 2.
Figure I'll watch it coming into shefield in the afternoon (around High Bradfield).
Planning to avoid the traffic by parking some distance away (maybe Lady Bower) and jumping on my Mountian Bike across the peaks to the route. Watch the tour with a cake and then a nice ride back again.

Staying at the Queens hotel in Leeds city centre for Fri/Sat. Will be at the circus for the start, then up to Harrogate for the finish. Need to find some good bars in Leeds for both nights, recommendations?
Brewery Taps is very close to the Queens hotel and sells a good range of beers including their own which is brewed on the premises. There are a few other decent ale bars including North Bar, The Botanist or for more traditional pubs try Whitelocks or the Adelphi. If you prefer bars then you'll find dozens in the city centre so just wander around and you'll stumble on a few.nammynake said:

Cool, right up my street. Going with my mate whom does Ironman, I hope they have a nice selection of zero calorie mineral water and seeds.In the sitting room with a cold beer I think. Saw it once in the 90's when it went through Basingstoke, and it was whoosh! and it's gone, and the last time in, I think, '07 when they ran the TT through Hyde Park. It was massively mobbed, not that easy to find a good viewing point, and took ages to get in and out of the park. Doubt that the run in to the centre of London is going to be any different this year, so home is the easier option.

There's loads of good bars around The Calls area if you're into cooler places.For the first stage we're looking at driving to somewhere west of Leeds and getting the train in to have a mooch around the race village, then back out and driving up to somewhere in the sticks with a good vantage point. There'll be loads of walking involved I'm sure! Any suggestions? Butter Tubs or similar?
Stage two we'll be riding up to Holme Moss, it's only an hour away. The ride home will be fun I reckon, should be a giant chain gang basically

That is the closest climb to our campsite, so I recon we will be on that one too. All being well (nice weather) I'll be in my PH jersey Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
