Is that really an 11tooth chainring?
Why bother with pedals? With gearing like that you would spin out at about 4mph.

Edit to say that there must be some sort of internal gearing..I mean there has to be.

i'd imagine it goes through an internal gearbox, I'm betting the motor pinion is even smaller for lower gearing still as it wont develop huge amounts of torque.

There appear to be 5 options...

Full suspension:

E-Aspect 720 @ 18.90 kg - Shimano Deore 9 speed rear mech, Suntour XCR-LO - 100mm travel (27.5" wheel)
E-Aspect 920 @ 19.70 kg - Shimano Deore 9 speed rear mech, Suntour XCR-LO - 100mm travel (29" wheel)

(700 series = 27.5" wheels; 900 series = 29" wheels)
('*10' is higher spec than '*20')


The assist system is the same through the model range as far as I can tell. A 2.5kg 'Plug and Play' 36 volt, 400wh Li-Ion battery which charges (off the bike) in 2.5 hours and gives "up to" 180km range (dependent upon rider and terrain). 4 assist modes - Eco; Tour; Sport; and Turbo. The drive motor is by Bosch, a 250 watt system, but my 2014 Scott catalogue doesn't give any more detail about any internal gearing within the motor housing.

thanks yellowJack, I'd be most interested in the FS, not sure what they'll be using on the day....

wonder what sort of losses you'll incur with the additional weight and suspension action

love DH but getting back up again with all the additional weight & poor geo kills it for me, this would put DH back on the list of activities I like to enjoy.
