Well I finally went down to pick up the TVR from HHC.

Put a deposit on it at the start of march but told him that I won't need it till late April as was in process of buying a house and not even attempted to sell focus.

Was originally wanting a open roof car for our France/Swiss trip in June. Was tempted by a ttrs, rs4 and such like. But as the tvr dealer is pretty local I thought I'd pop in to look at a couple of tamoras... I loved them!

But on the way out I had a quick look at a Tuscan and besides the fact I've never been a huge fan of the Tuscans looks it was much better suited for us. Huge boot, removeable roof but no real worries of roof being vandalised by a jealous t@4ts, loads of leg room and most importantly room for the dog (yes Charlie will be getting in it occasionally)

Anyway the Tuscan he had is wasn't quite special enough for me but he said he was expecting a Tuscan 2 S in the following week.
He told me the price and colour and I was a bit put off as it was the high end of my budget, and way more that I wanted to spend on a tvr.
A week later I had an email saying it had arrived so decided to go view it. 30mins later I'd put a large deposit on it!

It was TVR's show car for the Tuscan 2s and shown at shows such as the NEC 2004 motorshow. Not sure if this was a good or bad thing but with only 1 owner since TVR and 17000 miles with FSH from the same garage I bought it from I thought it was a relatively safe tvr to buy.

Tony from HHC has been brilliant and had the car prepped brilliantly and has had some paintwork too which is excellent.

One thing I noticed which is irritating.. The screen display.. It's almost invisible with roof off! I've tried the contrast and brightness nobs but they don't seem to do anything? Is this a fault or is it a known issue with Tuscans?

Anyway I have managed to do about 250miles this weekend in it and my ears are still actually ringing. So I'll leave you with some pics from today

Lovely car and hope you enjoy it.
With regard to the dash display if it is the baboons bum version there was a mod for the early versions to change the colour round, green on black to black on green or vice versa (7 years since I sold mine and can't remember which way round it was).
Anyway wasn't a total cure but did definately improve it when it was sunny, not sure if it would still be available but I am sure some current owners will be along to help soon.

Thanks for that, will have to do some more searching and have a chat to tony.

Also wondering what diff I have? Is there a thread somewhere that tells you how to work it out via speed vs revs?

There definately is a thread detailing speeds in gears for given diffs as I remember reading it unfortunately you will be at the vagaries of the PH search engine.

Not what I was thinking of but this link may be useful

Nice car
I bought mine for the same reasons, lots of luggage space for a bit of touring/ shopping and roof off when required.
I have the close ratio box and 3.73 diff which equates to almost 100mph in second gear!!
enjoy it and welcome to what could be another one of only 35 2S's

Thanks laser, yeah tried a few searches but not got anywhere yet. That link might be useful will have a look this evening, thanks again.

Hi turner, thanks
Am curious to know how many Tuscan 2s's there were and from working out on how many left I came up with 40ish so I wasn't far away.

Love having an exclusive car.

Not quite, heard it!
Mate saw it from the pub and could just describe it as a tvr with a spoiler!
Are you local then?!

Just over 6 years.
It's been a love/hate relationship.
Can't imagine ever selling up though.
Always been a second car and what ever has been the main car has always been something interesting too.
Currently red Audi c5 RS6. Does almost everything better!

Ah yes I saw a red one parked up too... Looked amazing!
I will possibly be looking at a b8 s4 avant but not for a couple of years.. (£1500 worth of upgrades = 500bhp).
I will keep an eye out for you.
