How Many have euro breakdown and recovery on insurance
Discussion
Been checking my policy with Carole Nash - seems sound. 91 days cover in Euro countries plus noted others, for breakdown, recovery to garage or repatriation. I appreciate the greatest mobile mechanics team on earth is in convoy, but has anyone ever had to use these services with their insurer? Anyone know if its any good? or do people extend cover with RAC/AA etc? On paper the insurance policy seems very good......
have and had the AA service for past 6 years, used many times, also have the warranty option which has paid for itself 10 times over, cars repatriated to uk a few times along with return flights.
on the whole a very good investment especially on older cars (price goes up for cars older than 10 years)
last repatriation took 8 weeks though and they damaged the car
on the plus side they paid £1100 for repairs with no questions.

Only needed it once on the way back from Spa (not an S tour) and their service was great. It was only a minor wiring problem that I know the S Club guys could've sorted but this is me we're talking about...
Gozzy had clutch issues on the way back from the Nurburgring last year. No amount of S Club expertise would've been able to help with that one (unless someone happened to be carrying a spare clutch!) and he, his passenger and car were transported home thanks to the cover he had.
Personally I wouldn't leave the UK without cover of some sort

+1
Not a break down but a little "bump" in Belgium, all sorted quite efficiently.... car recovered then brought home (choice of any garage or my house), hotel for the night, taxi to airport, obviously a flight and offer of taxi home although declined that bit, my daughter picked me up.
And the actual claim for the accident was settled promptly and to my satisfaction. Car was "written off" but had the option to keep salvage, didn't have to buy it back as I believe you have to with some insurers?
