So, last week I..........

Was enjoying a week of gnarly blasting down some fantastic trails in Southern Spain with my new Cannondale. There was four of us from the south and another group of 6 arrived at Malaga from Scotland to make a great group for the week. As usual, I went with Ciclo Montana. Having been going to the area for over 14 years now, I know Marco will always show the best trails around.

The four of us at the top of a climb ready to pad up for the descent. I am fat knacker on the left.
We also had the unusual fat bike with us. John , the owner was an extremely talented guy, like most of the Scots, having mountains around them to play unlike us in the south.

Running 5 to 7 psi, sounded like a car with flat tyres coming past you.
My bike is now looking very second hand. Brakes were on fire for the first couple of days, as never managed to really bed them in before the holiday. On the Thursday, I had some weird noises coming from the rear of the bike. Found the cassette was wobbly, so we left well alone suspecting the freehub bearing had collapsed. Stripped it today to find the freehub had cracked the full length of it. Bit miffed as only a month old.

I did think the bike was a bit overkill for me, with 2.45 inch tyres, but this time out, I managed to ride probably 98% of the trails. Far more than I had ever managed before.
We thought we were doing well, until we saw this chap ride past and carried on climbing !

He just carried on up and up with this. Had a disc brake and a lot of skill to ride that !
A view from the start of the descent, which we had just climbed. 15 mins later we were at the town, Orgiva, below for lunch.

Relentless climbing, leading to fantastic rocky, loose descents, great views, fantastic weather, great food, cheap and perfect company.
I cant recommend Ciclo Montana enough.
