Huh,
This is what it says about my area......
Classification:
Affluent Singles in quality rented flats
This postcode is typical of 0.82% of the UK population.
1)Housing Type: The most common type of housing in this area is converted flats. These properties are mainly privately rented and the amount of moving within this area is classed as being very high.
Actually they're Rachmann owned!

2)Residents: In this area the most common social group is AB.
Oh yeah ?
3)The levels of qualifications held by residents is very high and of these residents a high proportion are directors.
Not in my lifetime - most are tossers - sorry Dossers! See 4)

4) Households predominantly consist of young singles and there are an above average number of students in the area.
True which negates the above
5) Financial: There is a below average number of investors who reside in this area. The financial risk associated with this post code is below average. The number of Gold Card owners is high.
I would have put the financial risk as High! Police are constantly calling round the houses for one reason or another.

6)Other Information: There is a low level of car ownership in this area.
What!!!!! you try getting a parking space. Seems every house has two or more cars to its name
7) The type of daily newspaper bought is typically a quality one and the typical Sunday newspaper is of quality type.
Hee hee - my Newsagent tells me he sells more Mirrors and News of the worlds than any other paper!

I'd take this site with a pinch of salt

Oh so accurate - not.

Very low number of students it says....i live within a mile of a university, what do you think?

Very low level of car ownership...given this is london the level is actually very high with most households in my immediate area owning at least two cars. Would someone care to tell me what "very low level" actually means?

Admittedly the rest is pretty accurate thanks to the vicinity of two military bases, an airport and a big hospital...

Interesting, though I'd doubt the validity of much of the statements.

Having said that, the description wasn't too far off the mark for my postcode, but a lot of it was very general in the way it was worded.

I doubt it searches down to individual postcode level really. The only reason they need your entire postcode is to pull up the map further down the page...

Well I put in both oth th postcodes for current house and new house (no houses in between the codes and identical first 4 characters) and the descriptions were almost complete opposites

I think there must be SOME routing in truth for alot of this.
I've checked it over for where i'm currently living, the cottage I'm moving to and my mums place/My weekend retreat.

Current place- Coventry tramp zone: Suburban families with school age children (i.e: boring judgemental feckers!)
In this area the most common social group is C2DE. The levels of qualifications held by residents is very low (and they're ignorant stupid feckers too!)and of these residents a low proportion are directors. Households predominantly consist of older families and there are a very low number of students in the area. With an average level of affluence.

New cottage: Older families in larger dwellings. In this area the most common social group is C2. The levels of qualifications held by residents is low and of these residents an average proportion are directors. Households predominantly consist of older families and there are a low number of students in the area.
Medium-high affluence rating.

London retreat:Wealthy older families in suburban areas.
In this area the most common social group is ABC1. The levels of qualifications held by residents is above average and of these residents a very high proportion are directors. Households predominantly consist of older families and there are an average number of students in the area.
Medium-high affluence rating.
