New PistonFest details

The date is confirmed, and we have a couple of automotive treats already lined up too

As promised after the first announcement, we've got a few more details for you regarding PistonFest. The original date will remain as Saturday 30 August and we aim to open the site up at around lunchtime. The venue is Herts County Showground in St Albans.

There will be a marquee for the bar, food and the band later in the evening so even if our booking for wall to wall sunshine doesn't get honoured, it won't be the end of the world.

So, what about the updates?

The lovely chaps at Caterham Cars will be coming along and they're bringing the amazing SP/300.R for a wheel change challenge. Essentially you'll be competing against each other to do a wheel change in the quickest time possible and the best times of the weekend will receive some Caterham goodies. They will also be available to answer any Caterham related questions you have. Our own Matt will bring his Academy caralong too.

Another great attraction will be the STP Racing with Sopp & Sopp BTCC team with PHer (and BTCC driver) Ollie Jackson (The Wookie). They will be bringing their Proton Gen-2 cars along (providing they survive Knockhill the weekend before) for you to have a good look around and will be discussing life in the BTCC too.

We will be holding a PH themed pub quiz too with some great prizes. There will also be a Sunday Service on the August 31 but we'll give more details on that nearer the time.

Ticket prices are £50 per adult, 10-16 year olds pay just £25 and under 10's go for free.

At the moment we're asking everyone that wants to come along to leave a £25 per head deposit for adults and £10 for 10-16 year olds. Click here to pay a deposit.

We look forward to seeing you there, keep an eye out for more updates.

I can't make it, wish I could. I hope everyone who attends has a fantastic time and as for PH I hope it is such a success that you do it all over again next year and perhaps I will be able to attend.

if it is in st albans, I'm gonna be there!

I might have missed, but is there a closing date on tickets? is there a maximum number of visitors allowed?

We're asking for deposits by the end of this month so we can gauge interest and at the minute there is no upper limit on attendees, it would be great to have a worry about not fitting people into the 70 acres we've got available to us hehe

It is but their website and google lists it as St Albans and I didn't want to cause confusion.

I fear the £50 will put many off.

Also, as Garlick won't be there for me to abuse after drinking too much there's not much point in going. frown

Sorry, I missed have missed the bit where you listed what you got for the £50??
I don't mind paying money to get a top day out, whether that be hill climbs, track racing, concourse shows but there has to be something pretty special to warrant £50!?
