I'm NOT a frequent user of this Porsche Forum, but I wanted to take the time (by way of a thank you to GT-ONE), to say what a great service I got from this organisation recently. I've previously owned a 993 for 7 years and recently Carrera 3.2. I used them recently to check a car over and while they were VERY busy and could NOT fit me in straight away, they agreed to take the car in advance until the agreed date that they could look at it or before if they found the time - they found time earlier in the end. I had great service from Craig at GT-ONE, who was more than happy to spend a decent amount of time to explain matters over the phone a few times and in person.

I've used good specialists before, but these guys were a cut above by being able to be a bit more personable about the whole matter. Worth taking your car a bit further to them I reckon. I don't do BS in these matters or blow sunshine up ar*es either, so if I've posted this then I mean it and feel I owe it to say so.

Thanks for your help guys!!

Paul.

Total opposite of my experience of Gt One.

No idea of what they were doing was my opinion, and I considered legal action for the £1,800 wasted there.

Well, OK, but I have let GT-ONE know that I've posted this as a thanks to them, and my experience was very good.

I've been taking my 964 here for years now.

Peter and Craig are absolutely fantastic. Very personable chaps as the OP says. They're incredibly thorough and really get older 911s, owning quite a few themselves.

I have many stories I could tell of how great they have been with me. Here's one that springs to mind, I had a failed starter motor which meant for convenience I took it to my more local Indy. They wanted to charge me a very substantial amount for a new one and a lot of labour hours. I called up Peter and asked whether I was right that I was being over quoted. Once confirmed he offered to supply my local Indy with the part at cost.

Turns out my more local Indy wasn't happy with me supplying parts since that seems to be where they make their big margins. So I bump started the car, drove it to GTOne. Peter managed to find a spot on the ramp. 30 minutes of coffee and chat and I was back on the road ready for a track day.

Ok here's another. My pedal box is a mess, changed rolling pin etc no difference. Call GTOne on a Saturday and Peter spends time with me on the phone helping me out with my DIY. In the end I couldn't solve the issue so I brought it in to them. Within a 45 minute wait they realised it was the bushes, that it wasn't economical to replace them, that a 2nd hand item would be cheaper, that actually they had a spare 993 pedal box in the attic that would fit and would be better since the pedal spacing is better and there you go back on the road with a 'new' pedal box installed.

Overall I would consider them perfectionists. They have always pointed out things to keep and eye on. They always make me end the call because they won't stop talking. They often manage the squeeze me in last minute. They're very happy to collaborate with other specialists. When quoted I've never had a surprise.

They're not local for me since I live in central London but for me it's a no brainer I'm very happy to make the extra journey to get to them. I rate them highly for PPI checks, servicing, upgrades.

It's certainly unusual to get neg feedback on here about GT-One. I've used them lots and thought they were excellent.

I guess it's hard to get it right 100% of the time.

Being Surrey based, have also used them. Good service - never had cause to think otherwise.

Don't agree with Dealer bashing with no, supporting verifiable facts.

They are great...
Here is my story...
I had a 996 cab the guys looked after. All good.
I lived in Staines, the day I was moving house my battery failed...big trouble. Rang gt one. They got in a car, drove to me, did some magic, and got it running.
No charge.
Magic!

Dont lived near now but would recommend them 100% of the time

Cheers

Ditto, they've been great when they've done work on my 997 previously.

Wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

The fact they were booked solid a month ahead when I wanted to get my gt3 in speaks volumes. So it has to wait til june. The car has their stamps since leaving the OPC network at 3yrs old. My experiences have been good.

After I had a terrible experience with the so-called "guru" of 928s in stroud, who managed to completely balls up the fitting of a 4.7 S2 engine to my early 928, Craig at GT One restiored my faith in garages and old Porsches in general.

Always had a top service from them. I wish they were closer.
