Hi, I am in need of a new helmet for my road bike, currently using my cheapo Scott MBK lid and it is heavy, hot, noisy and makes my head look huuuge!
Looking for something light, quiet and good looking.
I know I should try ones to fit but I dont have that luxury.
Looking to spend £100ish but could go higher if needed, what would you guys choose?
Like the looks of some of the Kask, Catlike, Bell, Specialized, Scott and Giro ones but no idea where to start.
Feel free to put up links of any you like

+24I've a Kask Mojito which IMO looks good, is comfortable and looks suitably PRO. Downside is that it's slightly noisy but I've not compared it against any others.
My mate has an Uvex which I thinks looks fantastic if a tad heavy in comparison to the Kask.
I love KASK, I have a Mojito for the summer months and a Vertigo Tri I use in the winter (Xmas pressy - the only reason I have 2 x skid lids).....
I have just used the Mojito to ride through Spain in 36-38' heat and the vents worked extremely well, 7-ish hours per day in the saddle and I never suffered from neck ache as it's very lightweight.
As for noise, I have never really noticed over the whirr of tyres on the road and sound of traffic.....if you notice noise you are not trying hard enough!

Specilized helmets are good I have two the ordinary road one the pro teams wear and the new Evade the teams like OPQS ride with as well as a Kask, the Kask fits great unlit i wear sunglasses and the rear head band digs into the glasses arms and my head the was enough to prompt a new helmet, the Evade. Try them one with whatever else you will ride with, glasses under helmet hat etc.
As above - whichever one fits your head. I walked in with a budget for £60 and walked out having spent £120 on a Kask Mojito as it was by far the most comfortable one I tried on.
Conversely, when buying a ski helmet it just so happened the most comfortable one was the cheapest - some you win some you lose.

Just upgraded to a Specialized S3 from an old Bell "mushroom" head helmet, its lighter and better vented, especially around the back of the head. The straps are the only odd bit, because of how they fix to the helmet they are out in the airflow and buzz at 26 and 32mph exactly :-) Might just be me though...
It is a different shape and I needed to try 10 helmets in 2 different sizes each- when you try them on in the shop don't forget to "look up" and simulate the head/neck position you have when riding as its quite different to just standing upright and the helmet actually moves!
IMO the important bits are fit, ventilation and long term comfort- everything else like colour, looks is secondary.
