Minifinity track day at 3 sisters

Hi guys

minifinity are organising a track day at 3 sisters in Feb.

For the mo we are trying to get enough mini's together, if we dont get enough then we are opening up to others.

Why don't you contact the Mini Cooper Register. They are a keen lot and could well support this. It's too far for me (I'm now in Cambs.) and my rally cars are more suited to slightly more bumpy roads, although we did do special tests at Oliver's Mount and Croft on the Lombard Revival Rally last week. Great fun with loads of oversteer in a rally set-up Mini. Incidentally, my Mini was slower than a Suzuki Swift in a straight line, but I pulled out quite a bit on the twistier bits of both those circuits. I am a bit of a late braker, though, and a bit of left-foot braking gets it nicely sideways with power hard-on. It's no good trying to drive an oversteering rally car on rally tyres in the same way as a lowered race car - completely different techniques (sideways is safest!!!!).

Track day sounds like fun but need some advice. Am expecting my cooper S conv any mo and I intend to have the works kit put on as soon as I've run it in. Have done some trackdays in a CSL (bloody quick I can tell you!) and wasn't really intending to ever use my mini on the track (hence bought the conv) but....wondering if it would be a good idea to have a go on a mini only track day? Don't want to seem a tart in a conv though!! Will be getting chance to do trackdays in an EVO VIII MR340 anyway so, just a thought...any comments?
