....and want to help develop a range of very high quality carbon fibre replacement panels and fittings for these cars, we are looking for owners to lend us their cars to take tooling measurements and maybe patterns from.

Parts such as door sills, engine covers, airboxes, and trim panels are the main areas of interest.

All processes are non-destructive and those loaning the cars will get their parts at a very much reduced price.

Contact us via www.activacarbon.com

Please note we are not selling these items at present, but formal advertising will appear on this site when we launch the products.

PH ad mamager - might be an idea if you call us.

Very much reduced.. as in Free ?

Or just 10% off :|

Mules tend to get free devices to compensate the owner for their valuable time!

Sounds tasty though...

Reverie give the mules away to those people kind enough to assist - EFA ought to do the same, I'd say...

The point here is that at the moment this market seems to be full of really nasty GRP manifesting as carbon.

For example someone offered me a rear grill for an F360 at the Max Power show at the weekend, in wet layup carbon (material cost £25)which probaly took around 5 hours to make, for £1500 + VAT I thought thats a bit of a rip off.

We can make very high quality parts, sell them for much less than £1500. If I have to give the first one away, that means the paying people will have to subsidise as the unit price will increase.

I am offering a much bigger incentive than 10% off, but it will not be free.

Mark, Seeing as you nerve seem to be driving your car, can I assume its up for grabs???

Rubystone, who is EFA?

With all due respect, the reason other companies offer free exhausts or similar is that they are often an unknown or new company. I haven't heard of your company so it will be easier to gain the confidence of a client to leave you their car if they're getting some free toys.

There have been scare stories of someone lending their Countach and a company taking a complete mould of the car to use to make replicas.

Good luck with the products. Top quality carbon products really work well in cars and I'd be interested if i had a Fez

Can someone with a 4200 give these guys their car for a bit so they can measure the rear wings and boot lid for the required rear light conversion please.

Now that would be a good seller

EFA - Soneone told me that's the initials of the guy at Activa who put a flyer in my car at the Caterham Festival offering carbon for Catherams (sic)

Sadly I don't have one of the cars you are looking for having progressed to a more 'grown up' model which I am using frequently

If I still had my 355 you would have been welcome to borrow it for now't although I prefer the look of an original car than those that have had carbon (or is it GRP!) added, that's not to say there isn't a market

David A - Can you perhaps call or email me and explain what we need to make for 4200GT lights/rear end and we can look at it.

Tony -- We have a 360 organised, if you have a 355 could you email me again as I did not get your message. arniew@activacarbon.com

Mark - Thx anyway....

Rico, Around 13 years ago Activa was called Brabham.... I've just aquired Activa after the parent company Yamaha liquidated it a few months ago.

Where can I find a Lambo owner - the engine bay on one I looked at the other day had plastic covers no better than a Cheap VAG group car! Sad!

Simonspider on here has a Murcielago. 'think' he's the only owner on here that posts a lot.
James Ketchell (sp?) has a Gallardo... and a few others on here have Gs.
Do a search in the members section for certain cars.

I really do wish Activa luck - I'd dare not say this on another board for fear of being ostracised for showing an affinity, real or imagined, for the MD of this firm. The outfit looks well put together and I trust it is well financed too, although a certain M3 owner with a penchant for bright coloured Caterhams says he hasn't invested....

I have some contacts in Global Lights and a route thru to Sports 2000 - at the moment everything is g/f based in these series - due mainly to cost I believe -I'd be happy to pass on the contact details if of any use.

Arnie - I also mailed you about the 355.

I'm not back in the country until Feb at the earliest though - do you need the car at your place or can you visit elsewhere to take measurements? Or can you wait?

Might well be interested in door sills and engine bay covers...

Are you doing Caterham bonnets yet?

Echo Mark's comments. Good luck to you all (and fingers crossed that EB's trowel work is niftier than his steering wheel work Did you let him smoke inside?).

PS When you do get hold of a 355 (or if you end up using mine), take a look at the undertray.

It's quite big, but flat with only little lips. These are bloody expensive in original form. It'd be interesting to see how much these might cost.
