Looks like JB will be racing with BAR next season, at least that's what the BBC are stating.

Given the alternatives (Toyota, Sauber, Jaguar) I think this could be a good move. It'll also be interesting to see his performances against Jacques Villneuve.

Whatever, I wish him well.

Is Villeneuve definately staying then? I thought BAR were more likely to dispense with his services, and keep Panis?

The BBC website (so it must be true!) states that Panis is off whilst JV will be staying.

BAR must have emptied their piggy-banks and found the (alleged) £8 million Villeneuve wanted for '03.

Being in Hungary I miss all the news, my coverage is in Hungarian. JB to BAR? what happened to Renault and Williams options. I would have thought Sauber was a better bet.

Can't really see Jenson getting a ride in a Williams any time soon as JPM and Ralph are doing a pretty good job (when the engines/tyres hold up!).

With any luck, BAR will be getting official Honda engines next year which might make them more competitive.

Oh, and I bet the fact that Jenson isn't managed by Flavio Briatore (and Alonso is!) had nothing to do with the decision

I think Sauber would be better for Button - let's face it: BAR aren't exactly the swiftest team in the paddock, are they?

However, they do have a big budget, Dave Richards and Jacques Villeneuve. Could it be that Sir Frank wanted Button to partner an ex-Williams driver?

I doubt that the Ralf/JP pairing will break up any time soon, and both Michael and Rubens are signed up for a while (who wants to be contracted to be second-best, anyway?), as is Kimi, so I think the next hot seat would be DC. He seems pretty despondent of late (OK, the last few years!) and now that Big Ron's got a new protege, ol' Dave might get pushed aside again. Toyota also have potential and money but aren't established enough. Jordan, Arrows, Jaguar and Minardi all seem to be incapable of providing a car to match Button's talent...

Still, I won't feel too sorry for him. Wherever he goes to he's guaranteed to get a shedload of moolah!
