550 Maranello article - they'll be £200k before you know it!
Discussion
I liked the idea of a 550 at some point, but if they keep going up and the 599 keeps coming down, I think I'd be tempted by the newer car. Keep it long enough and after it continues to depreciate for a while, it will then probably start to bounce back in a similar way to how the 550 has. The 550 is the one to go for if you want one of the last proper old school manual V12s though.

This, but only if I could find a manual 599. My only experience of F1 was in a 575 though, perhaps a 599F1 would change that...Cheib said:

Not red, NOT RED???!!! Crap article...
Not sure if I read £200k into it either.
And another thing... Quentin Wilson, the car dealers dealer says, and I quote: "Over the past year I've seen prancing horse dealers inflate showroom prices of 550's by as much as £20k". Surely the market establishes the prices? I've mentioned before that CAP is showing a 21.5% increase over the last 14 months, so don't dealers just reflect this? Chicken and egg situation I guess.
Drilled pedals did it for me

The article mentioned the 550 'bargain' sold recently at auction, but ommitted to say it was lhd. Bhp is 475 rather than the 425 stated too I think. Cant see 550s rocketing but it certainly seems that prices are moving.
Supply and demand I guess as there only seem to be a few for sale right now.
