More Power From a 323i SE - How?
Discussion
Hi
I've just bought a 2000 BMW 323i SE. Although it is a 2.5 litre engine it only puts out about 170bhp. I'm wondering if there is an easy way to extract a bit more? Having looked at SuperChips they claim to be able to give an extra 13bhp for £300. This is OK, but do I have any other options without spending a fortune and/or turning the car into a loud bruiser, because I bought it specfically to make my commute more relaxing?
Thanks.

The earlier 325 engine has a slightly bigger inlet manifold and if you aquired one of these and got the engine re mapped you should be near the 192BHP mark. However you would loose some of the torque as the 323 and 328 engines were designed for torque and not power. The easiest and cheapest way of getting more power is to buy a more powerfull BMW.
