Just after some advice really. Anyone with some Fiat Bravo fuel tank knowledge could be a great help...

I've got a bit of a fuel leak. Traced it to this section of hose which connects to the fuel tank on the drivers side just infront of the rear wheel. It goes into the tank about 3/4 up the height of the tank. I can't see where the hose leads off to but it seems to head towards the top of the tank. It gets lost behind plastic covers and other stuff.

The leak is at the join between the rubber hose and the plastic hose. I'm not sure if this is a bodge by a previous owner or just poor design on Fiats part, but it seems that the plastic hose is rammed into the rubber hose and there is no clip to secure it. Over time it's worked it's way loose and it's now leaking.

I spent a bit of time last night trying to get a jubilee clip on the join but my faffing just made it worse, and I ended up having to catch about 10-15l of fuel in one of my daughters toy boxes before the level in the tank dropped bellow where the hose joins the tank.

Can anyone tell me where this hose leads to and whether this is indeed a bodge by a previous owner or not? My current train of thought is that the plastic hose should actually connect to the fuel tank on it's own but becuase it's been routed the wrong way around the ARB, it doesn't quite meet and someone has shoved in the rubber bit to make up the extra length...

Help!

Ps. It's a bravo HGT 155 VIS 2000 model if it makes any difference.

Hmmm..

On further investigation... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FIAT-LANCIA-BRAVO-PETROL...

The blue hose in that picture looks to be what I'm having trouble with... And it is indeed a plastic hose rammed into a rubber hose at one end...

Can anyone confirm whether I will be able to access the fuel pump end of this hose via the hatch under the rear seats and replace the whole length with a single rubber hose? Might be the easiest solution to the problem if I can do it without dropping the fuel tank...

Cheers
