Hi,

I am intrigued to find out what on earth the middle, lower centre console switch is for (its for rear wiper on a coupe but what is it on a cab?). It even has its own flashy red light when switched on!! I have searched posts and images on every car site known to man but nothing. I am guessing it might be an after market thing...alarm maybe...that possibly was removed? I have small sensors in the corners of the windshield that do not seem to do anything, and which I do not think are standard?

Your sage opinions welcome!

I think you will find this is the on off switch for the interior air pressure sensors for the alarm system.

Aha! Thanks Graeme. I was hoping you were going to tell me it was a sport button.

Is this a factory option or after-market? I have just never seen another one?

Thx smile

I have one too on my factory fitted alarm, so I presume it's official

Factory. I'm struggling to remember. Certainly on the 964's and I think 993's they used to fit a rocker switch on the side of the transmission tunnel on the drivers side below the centre console. Maybe the cabs were different.

Just checked my options and alarm (code 533) was not present. I am surprised due to the presence of the red light below the switch. Would an after-market have bothered with that??

Do you have alarm option (code 533) listed on your log book? I don't!

From memory the alarm installs were done by Hamiton Palmer. The rocker switch on the transmission tunnel had the red led as well. So yes I reckon it is almost factory
