Windproof softshell jacket for spring/Autumn

Hi All,

I am new to road cycling and am slowly buying the gear I need.
I am after a decent windproof softshell jacket which is breathable and suitable for temps in the mid-teens.

My budget is around £50-60. I would appreciate any recommendations.

Mid-teens Celsius? You'll be too hot in a softshell jacket! Just wear a jersey with a longsleeve base layer underneath if you think you'll be a bit chilly. I wear a Helly Hansen 70% merino wool one - keeps me warm and wicks sweat, and less bulky than a jacket.

Edit: Wore that combo this morning (c.8 degrees, damp fog). When the temp is 5 degrees or less, then my trusty Aldi softshell comes out. Not this one, but similar:

10 deg this morning, and for my 13 mile commute I wore a Lidl long-sleeve quarter-zip running top (about £6) and an ancient "View From" polyester running jacket (just a think jacket, no lining)
Still too hot after about 5 miles.

10 degrees, and i'll be happy in either my rapha soft shell, or s/s jersey with gillet, and arm warmers..
Horses for courses and all that!

Im not a cyclist, but I wear a soft-shell when I go walking (Paramo Fuera) and as has been said I think you might get too hot, mine is a very tightly woven yet very thin fabric and does hold the heat in really well.

I wasn't cold at all, could probably have got away with a lesser top to be honest. I'm planing on getting one of the Aldi tops this weekend to alternate with it though.
