They don't dangle anymore!!!

Phone call out of the blue yesterday from the auto sparky , to say that he can come round and sort the mess of wires ...the had been dangling from under the dash
We'll 4 hours later a lot of the wires are in the right place , my fuse for the radiator fan had been burnt out , is now replaced , near side window had stopped working , radio is now working and various other bits are done ..
My only fault , my voltage clock is doomed so need another one preferably with Tvr logo , so of anyone has got a spare volt clock for an S2 ..please let me know..

Cant help with your needs I am afraid, but if anybody has a digital clock for an S1 I would be grateful if they would get in touch.

You just missed out on 3/4 of a set which were on a well known auction site last week.

There is one clicky

But a bit pricy and bezel looks like it would need some attention.

I wouldn't bother, it will only worry you every time it dips to 11 volts when you switch too many two things on at the same time

I think the voltmeter is important. How else do you know that the indicators are on without its erratic swinging?

Totally agree with you Ray, it's the only way to tell

Kie, if your fan fuse was blown, I advise you to have a good check of your fan & make sure it spins freely by hand. If it was taking excess current, chances are that the bearings are on the way out, or the cable connectors to the fan are corroded.

Good advice as my fan motor decided it would start to smoke one day, once it had cooled down you could just about turn it by hand!

As any qualified electrician will tell you, an electrical circuit is useless once all the smoke has escaped.
Lucas used to sell jars of replacement smoke and a special applicator nozzle, but these are becoming very hard to scource these days.
Do NOT be tempted to buy the cheap Chinese smoke, as it is not compatible with the British wiring used on our precious TVR S's

I think Graham ( Ragtop ) knew of a supplier, but that was last year, stocks may now be sold out.

You could try Google, but don't hold your breath ........

Cheers Ray Tvr for the link , at that price my wallet moths are safely coconed in my wallet, burrowed deep down in my pockets..
So one less Gauge to look at, when driving ..bonus....

I think the real problem was not the fuse , it was the wire going into the box had to much dangle and got caught and broke .. I had checked all the fuses and relays but could not see anything . So a quick fix at the time , I ran a direct feed from the battery to fan to keep engine cool..

I did check to see if there was any tension on the fan," cheers Glen " I'm pleased to say its as free as a Bird..."no worries there" .....

So no smokey, sticky , fishey smells from my fan , not so sure about her fanny thou ?...
