Wow, that is a very nice car.

I would be sorely tempted if I could scrounge together the pennies I need ...

I've just been looking at the web site and although it needs a little attention I still reckon it's about £6k under priced.

Anyone know anything about the car?

I would actually be tempted to head out there on the weekend, and if they cut me a good deal, make a trade.

that is a gorgeous car. did anyone else notice the speedo reading 10mph on the close up of the dials though? shirley he wasn't driving it when it was taken although the rev counter is reading 500rpm also - does this mean the dials are bu66ered? I want that car so much I am going to have to stop looking at it because otherwise i'll just get mad that I can't sell the Ginetta in time before it gets sold! damn

minimax - you can always get cover - it's just what it mihgt cost. however - this car will sit happily on a classic policy so it should be quite possible.

I don't know anything about classic insurance though, so hopefully someone else will post.

Better phone em up and make sure the car is still there first. Also they're not far from verdis - so if you're serious I'd take it to Carl for a check over first - if he gives it the thumbs up it really is a good un.

Minimax you could try Aon on 01483 706000

Re the car I think the needle probably rests at 10mph, if it shouldn't then I'd be a little dubious of the mileage as the needle has to come off to 'adjust the odo', odo looks a bit out of line however the history seems to confirm mileage genuine.

it is the least desirable 308 being an early injection car which struggled a bit on power before the QV head came along but at that money it is tempting

arranging to view the car...this could be dangerous for my future house purchase! (me? impulsive? with my reputation? )

it would be rude not to have a look.
IF you have to sell it to buy a house then at least as a classic f-car it won't lose much during your ownership [like you need me to help justify it!]

P.S. Minimax - if you're viewing the f-car - can you take a good look at the fiat 2300 for me - maybe even get some pics on a camera(phone)?

I have the money, I need a runabout, It seems perfect...

... except for the small point of not having anywhere to keep it!

Easy, I was in a TVR / GTO / Porsche at 22 without issue.

and with far less NCB.

Go for it

well...it's more like if I buy it i'll have to go for quite a lot smaller house..hmmm it does look lovely though! I checked out a website for the performance figures and it weighs 1475kg! this was the US version though, shirley the euro version is lighter? and I was disappointed to learn that it takes 22 secs to go to 100mph, my Ginetta would eat it alive! does anybody know what the true figures are? 0-60 in 7.9 is corsa SRi territory!

You don't buy a 308 for its performance figures. There is much much more to Ferrari ownership than acceleration.

DO IT!

ach..I know! oh dear...I'm now trying to justify (assuming it checks out fine) not buying it! also, I think I would keep the Ginetta as well - it would break my heart to sell it
