I fully understand how this works - but am unsure what number to put in the online forms...

I drove 16,338 miles last year and was paid 25p per mile for all of them by my company.

I know that I'm allowed to be paid up to 45p per mile for the first 10,000 miles, and then 25p after that.

What I'm unsure of is the actual number to put into the 'Business Travel & Subs' box on my return?

could anyone please help?

many thnaks..

You have a claim for 20p per mile for 10,000 miles so the number is £2,000.

You realise you don't get this amount back, purely tax relief thereon don't you?

Sorry to gate crash... just making a head start on my SA and don't want to start a new topic for a quick question!

I have a Shares ISA and received some dividend's. I don't hold any other shares outside of my ISA. Am I correct in saying I can say 'NO' to:

"Did you receive any dividends, for example, UK companies, authorised unit trusts, open-ended investment companies, foreign companies (up to £300)?"

Yes - all income earned in an ISA wrapper is not taxable and thus not reported on your SA.

Another one from me again...

having finally filled in the online forms after receiving the paperwork from work - I'm due a refund..

whoo hoo and all that!

But, the thorny question is - when would i reasonably expect to receive the monies back ( it's under 2 grand, but it's still a nice surprise!)

If you are filing online and you enter your bank details, you should have it in your bank account within 7 - 10 working days.

Are you buying me a virtual pint now?
