I'm coming close to buying a project 1982 SC Targa from Brookspeed in Southampton.

The car has failed MOT on a few small things but most importantly corrosion near o/s seatbelt mounting. I think this is due to a hole at the bottom of the b-pillar which I knew about. If it's inner sill that I don't know about then I may walk away.

Anyway, I'd like to drive the car back to N.Ireland where I live. I need to get it through MOT to do this. I don't think Brookspeed are in the restoration game so need someone locally to pick up the car from them and do the minimum repairs to pass MOT.

I see there is JMG in Dorset - any feedback on them? Any other specialists of note in the area? All I actually need is the offending area patched to pass MOT since it will be stripped and properly done when I get it back here. I imagine there is more lurking under the bottom edge of the b-pillar (from prior SC experience!!).

Hope someone can help!

A.

presumably though if you have visible MoT failing corrosion, it'll just be the tip of a very large iceberg? Bodging it for an MoT may be a challenge.
