Hi all
I am looking to by a 911 with a view to have it retro fitted to look like a 911E targa (pre 1979)
My budget is £17k for the car
Which age and models would be suitable and what would the refit cost
Cheers all
Harvey

are you trying to backdate an impact bumper targa to make it look pre-impact bumper? I guess any up to 1989 would do. Budget lots?

You'll get a suitable car for your £17k budget but it will probably cost you the same again if you are going to backdate it properly.

I dont see it being cheaper. Just buy what you want in the first place.

Or maybe, buy a backdate thats already been done?

It would appear that Harvey decided not to go the TVR route then?

I'd like to know why the desire to "retrofit" a later car to resemble a pre 1979 911E Targa tugs at his heartstrings so much though...

Pre '79 doesn't mean a great deal to me. By 1979 Porsche was making the SC which didn't use the E designation.

Do you mean pre 1969, with a soft rear window?
