Battery

hi my battery is dead , i have been offered a tuscan battery which is 72AMP which i think will fit i the tray
the s battery is 70 amp with 630 cold crank
the tuscan i think is 72 amp with 680 cold crank
anyone know if it will work and will it cause any damage to the electrics
i am not sure

As long as its 12 volts you can't have too many amps!


Motors, lights etc. will only take what they need no matter how many are available.

Best advice with a TVR is to get the biggest 12v battery you can find that will fit in your battery tray! Anything less is likely to be inadequate. Then fit a battery isolation switch to stop those pesky little electrons finding a way out

...but check the clearance between the battery terminals and the underside of the bonnet first!!

Had to replace my battery at the weekend too. Fitted a Planet 069 battery from the local motor factors, to replace the Halford 069 battery that died. It only just fits in the battery tray and doing the securing bolt up was a fiddle as it is on the radiator end of the battery ! Daft design.

Anyway car running again and my daughter who is almost 4 enjoyed her first trip in the TVR, roof off of course

thanks for the info
i fitted a strap round mine as well to secure it as the bar does not always lock the battery in well

Have heard that fitting a battery isolation switch doesn't help, as your ECU will lose it's memory - not sure if that's correct, but sounds right....
