They've just emailed me to tell me if I buy a Ribble bike, for a limited period I'll get a free £75 service voucher. All you need to do is, err... take your bike to Ribble and pick it back up again afterwards.
Given that Ribble are - to my mind at least - the ultimate example of the internet-based, distance-selling bike company, do they really think anyone is going to take them up on this offer? Just how much of the £75 saving would you have left after couriering your bike to them and back again, to say nothing of the hassle involved?
I realise there will be some people who live locally to Ribble, but it's surely a tiny percentage of their customer base? Seems a pretty cynical promotion to me!
