I noticed another council oversight last night, all the parking ticket machines have been upgraded to machines that requires your number off your plate to get a ticket, This is so the 20p ticket cant be transferred to another car, effectivly costing the council money, yet these things must have cost £10's of thousands. Hardly cost efficient.

But now, most cars on the road have the same numbers..
51, 02 and soon 52. Practically eradicating the purpose of individual tickets. So I guess we need another lot of machines!

And guess which tax payer foots the bill for this?

Why cant the council be made to pay for there mistakes, and give us our tax back?

So what happens if you put the wrong number in??? Is there a law they can do you under or is it another cynical ploy to raise cash by the backdoor?

We've had these number related machines in Bristol for years. Of course being at the forefront in costly anti-car technology we also have one of the highest council taxes (together with **** all services) in the the country.

It shouldn't affect Council tax as car parking is ring fenced and should be self funding (unless the legislation has changed).
