Stolen bike - Trek Ex8 - Huddersfield HD2

Hi.

I hope I'm allowed to put this in here.

Somewhere between Saturday evening and Sunday morning I had my garage broken into, and my bike stolen.

It's a Trek Ex8, black and white. It's more or less in mint condition and pretty much standard.



I suppose there's almost zero chance of ever seeing it again, but on the off chance that anyone in the area is offered one or sees one, I'd appreciate if they'd contact me. I should be insured, although will have to take a bit of a loss due to the maximum insurance payout being a bit low.

The thieves obviously came prepared, bringing tin snips and bolt croppers presumably.

This is a worry of mine. I wonder how the thieves knew the bike was in the garage? Do you leave the bike on a car rack? I suppose it would be easy enough to just see someone riding home though.

The bike never went on a car rack, and I never noticed anyone around when I was taking it out/in the garage. Perhaps some local scum saw me riding it and know where I live.

They obviously knew the bike was in there though, since they went to the effort of cutting the hole in the door and cutting through 2 hasps (1 either side) going into the floor.

Normally there's a car parked right up to the garage door every night too, but for the last week there hasn't been, which suggests to me that they've been watching for a little while.
