Hi all

Now I am due to get my Tuscan in 3 weeks.

Am wanting to get a new headunit for the car, mainly to renew the old one that's in.

Bluetooth, USB, and iPod are the norm these days. And ideally a European satnav too for my road trip.

Now is there any do' sand donts as I have never installed a stereo in my life and was wondering wether these new head units will wire in ok to a 10 yr old tvr??

What does everyone else use?

Thanks
J

I've just fitted a Clarion NZ501E to my Tamora. All in one single din flip front.

Thanks for that. Will go see what that model is.

Seen a couple of nice alpine ones.

Don't want to go buy a stereo and there's going to be issues with fitting.

Its easy enough to wire one in but there is very little space in the pod so one of the “deckless” no CD player type with the shorter bodies are a much easier fit. Also radio reception is pretty much terrible no matter what you do. I went for one of the Parrot Asteroid head units and that plays from an SD card or streams from my phone no problem. If you dig around there's plenty of threads on here about adding extra tweeters up front and fitting a small sub if you really want to up the sound quality.

Hi,

I've fitted a Kenwood KDC-BT73DAB in my T350.
Absolutely ace, can't complain.
iPhone/iPod, BT, and DAB, CD, 2 USB inputs and Aux input.
Sound quality is excellent!
absolutely no issues installing!.

Didn't realise their is "deck less" units that are shorter in length.
Thanks for the tip with that might have too look at that option too tho be a shame to loose the CD function.

Cool again I will go look at that one too.
The clarion one looks great but am now thinking I'd be better lowering the budget and try to loan a tom tom off someone for the amount of times I'll use it...
