Any of you chaps and chapesses local to North Herts (Baldock, specifically) recommend any white goods repairmen? My Whirlpool dishwasher, in use for less than two years, appears to have lunched itself tonight. I have cleaned it, the filters and the whirly water doo-dahs (you can tell I'm technical), I've gone through the various diagnostic procedures on it and seems to be coming back with an F3 error code still.

Some basic Googling identifies this as a fault in the heating circuit of the appliance. More detailed searching suggests this could be down to the heater, wiring or main control board. Or it can also be a combination of these. Parts aren't expensive, but, I've no way of identifying the problem area myself.

So any local recommendations?

We used this guy to fix our washing machine a few months ago... theappliancerepairman

I sent a message via the website and he phoned up the following morning, with everything fixed and running again with hours, all as quoted.

Holy thread revival.

bimjim,

Thanks very much. Ended up realising that it was still within housebuilder warranty (we're not first owners but first owner wasn't there long), so chanced it with the manufacturer and it all worked. They had no record of the device being registered so it sounds like they've started the warranty cover from when I rang?! They were clueless. But got it fixed in the end.

Turned out heating element had furred up... previous owner never used it (bought it as a show home as a rental project and never did anything), and we'd only been there 18 months! Doesn't bode well.
