Anyone seen any fat slicks for a 29er?

Hi All,

The novelty of commuting nearly 10 mile on knobblies has worn off.

I'm looking for some fat slicks but unlike those for 26 inch wheel they seem very thin on the ground/not existent.

I'd like something 2 inches plus (the current tyres are 2.2).

I think 700c's fit so in metric that would be 700c x 50mm.

Any suggestions?

Wyy flat slicks out of interest ?

I used to have some 2,0 slicks on my MTB, they were great for caning it down badly surfaced (tarmac) hills, that I have to take slowly on my roadie and for gravel trails. But they added extra drag on tarmac

I found 1.5's a lot better compromise

Hi, it's the trade off between comfort and drag, really.

I think my Conti's were 1.95. I tried narrower ones (1.5 maybe) and found them a bit too harsh for my liking.

Looks like they come in 2.0, 2.1 and 2.35 (!)

The latter for that surfer look....

Think 2.1 is about right for me :-)

Complete with Kevlar anti-puncture belt and reflective strip.
