Hi

This year Mrs O and I have booked a motorhome for our summer jaunt and have sites booked in the following places. The MH isnt too big at 6.25m long.

If any of you folks out there can suggest some nice driving roads I would greatly appreciate it or indeed any links to any websites to help with my planning smile

Ypres, Belgium
Le Mans
La Rochelle
St Emilion
Carcassonne (a couple of days here to get up into the Pyrenees)
Limoges
Orleans
Kent

Many thanks smile

Of those areas, I have only driven around Carcassone. It was amazing, mind blowing amazing.

So much so, that I am going back next year and taking my whole family with me. The area in the foothills of the Pyrenees directly South of Carcassone (Mirepoix and further south) is beautiful, and great roads as well. Since you are visiting Carcassonne, the Cathar castles are great to check out and there is one in particular on a hilltop that is truly spectacular.

My advice for the Pyrenees would be make sure you motorhome can handle fairly steep roads (my Citroen C3 rental really struggled), and bring your climbing shoes if you wish to scale Montsegur!

Best of luck with the trip.

The Minervois are worth a detour on the way down (or back). Minerve itself gets pretty busy, but is a lovely little town.

In general, the green-banded roads on Michelin maps are pretty good driving roads, as well as being scenic.
