So the works C2W scheme changed to allow purchases from LBSs rather than some big website so after a lot of dithering and weighing up options I ordered and just picked up this...
It's an own brand bike from Echelon Cycles in Pershore, Worcestershire. I had a full fitting both before ordering the frame size etc, and then when picking up the bike on Saturday. I was able to choose the level of spec (without bottomless pockets went for full Sora and R500 wheels) and the service was fantastic. Proper roadie shop, without a knobbly tyre or hybrid in sight - all aero, lycra and carbon!
I did look at alternatives such as the Merida Ride 90 but fancied something a bit different from the mainstream GiaTreCannon-ised bikes that you see so many of. I'm sure they are great bikes and call me awkward, but for me I can feel that little bit more passionate about a bike built locally.
Some of you may remember me posting up pictures of my current roadbike, a 70s 6-speed Peugeot. So this is my first ever modern roadbike. Only had the chance to do 20km on it on Saturday evening but got 3 PBs and a 2nd on Strava without really trying.
Will be getting some SPD pedals fitted at the first service - not having used them before either thought it'd be prudent to get used to the bike before making that step as well.

Yes, I liked the colour too. Other choices were white or red, but thought the blue looked very classy and a bit more unusual. The clean look of the graphics is one of the reasons I went for it instead of a more mainstream bike.
Always assumed I'd be a 57cm frame sort of chap but this is a 54cm. Parked next to the Peugeot the frame is diddy, but the saddle and bars are about the same height.
Oh, and it came in at £650, including the two free fittings.

Anyway, it'll most likely perform just fine, even if it is a bit ugly.
