Everyone keeps talking about getting the car up to temp.

I do get it up to a temp, but what temp is recommended?

I keep the car below 2500rpm until the engine oil temp show at about 60, then let car go up to say 4000rpm. Once the temp is above 70 - away we go !!

What do you do? is the above correct ?

Wouldn't argue with that. I generally keep the revs at 1800-2200 until the engine's been running a few minutes. Then always keep it well below 3000 till the temperature's over 40. Don't push it over 4000 till the temperature's 70 or above.
