In trying to organise a Go Karting meet I have been asked the inevitable question of where to go...

We live in Sutton Coldfield (W.Mids) now and so thought I'd put it out to you...

Where is the Best Karting venue? (and why)

Whilton Mill springs to mind. One of the longest and most challenging outdoor tracks in the UK, great facilities and a decent fleet of karts too. It's near Daventry

I've raced an enduro at WHilton Mill. Awesome circuit - fast and technical! Well worth a visit even if you have to travel (I'm allll the way up North ; )

Whilton Mill is a good shout,
Birmingham Wheels is scruffy, but technical and good fun

There are any number of indoor circuits - cannon raceway is pretty good and has the near obligatory flyover

Birmingham wheels is rubbish, its tight and with tyres lining the track, no run off. Its like driving an indoor track.

Good facilities? It has a couple of portacabins and a burger van. Buckmore Park has good facilities.

From my experience most outdoor tracks have rubbish facilities and most people end up getting changed in the car park. Handy having an estate and sitting under the tailgate.

This doesn't help you, but the best one I ever went to was in Oman.

Great track, great karts, no rules. They just let us loose. Didn't care in the least that we had brought a number of cases of beer with us and had arrived following on from a boozy dinner.

Beer pit stops! In, down a beer, out!

So surprised I'm not dead. getmecoat

If you're going to travel to Whilton Mill you might consider Daytona Milton Keynes - better facilities (and a Chinese restaurant 2 mins away) and the track is good with a long lap length.

What more do you want?

We raced a 6 hour endurance in the snow with little more than a boot lid to sit under ; )

There's a track not far off Tamworth. Priory park is the place. http://www.dayoutwiththekids.co.uk/family-fun/Tamw...

It's a bit of a trek but PF International near Grantham is absolutely awesome. Mega track (1.2km). Great cafe. Very professional and really well maintained karts.

Another vote for Priory Park, had some fun there a few times and is close to Sutton.

Whilton Mill is very good too, its a much better track but not quite local to Sutton.

There's also Mr Karting Ltd

Unit 2 The Hangars Harbury Lane, CV33 9S

Just outside Warwick, handy from the M40 , but it's inside and last time I was anywhere near it was a lot smaller than Priory park . Might have changed since then .

Priory park, crickey that's a blast from the past, I was circuit champion there many moons ago. Its got to be Whilton Mill if you want a full on experience and they normally have the building open to keep warm!
