Race Retro Stoneleigh 22-23 Feb
Discussion
Has anyone been to this event in the last couple of years, and if so, did you feel it was worth it?
I've only been once - in 2006 - and I felt at the time that, whilst there were some good things, overall it was a bit disappointing, because actual race cars seemed to be a bit thin on the ground.
However, I'd like to give it another bash, but I'm a bit wary of spending about £100 (tickets plus petrol) on what might prove to be another disappointing day.
What have folks' impressions been?
Cheers,
T.

We have been for the last 2 years and really enjoyed it, have gone mainly for the rally stage which has been a good variety of cars and go inside for the show in between stages.
I want to order tickets in advance to make it cheaper, just wonder if anyone has a discount code to knock off a couple of pounds if you don't mind sharing it!
Thanks
Steve

Will be there for the third time running. I think it's a brilliant show and not bad value as they have the live rally stage too. Some great exhibits and a nice place to be early in the year to get a fix for cars! Also a big auto jumble there and plenty of stalls with paintings and memoribilia to look at / buy at leisure.
Incidentally, it is also on on the Friday 21st though as per last year, the live rally is probably not on on that day.
Was bitterly cold last year as mentioned above but early indications are it should be ok and nearer 10 degrees this weekend so fingers crossed.

The blue E-type above belongs to a friend of mine and I know he's very sad to see it up for sale, but it's time to move on.
Lovely car and decent bloke.
I spent more time looking at this car than the others in the auction tent yesterday.... just when you think you've seen enough photos and youtube clips of S1 E-Types to last a life time, you see one in the flesh and your brain / heart / imagination just melt.... I wish your friend well with the sale, and wish even more that I were in a position to buy it myself! A stunning piece of kit, just beautiful....Lovely car and decent bloke.

I'll tell him that, although it might not cheer him up to hear it!He's just spent a lot of money having it detailed in preperation for the auction, so lets hope it goes well for him.

Went today with my youngest son and really enjoyed it. Had a snack in the main cafe and on the table nearby ours was Win Percy and Norman Dewis. Two legends within British motoring/motor sport - in my eyes at least
Also saw Stirling Moss who despite now looking quite frail still works extremely hard signing autographs, giving interviews etc. Huge respect to him.
