Credit Score/Mortgages and Electoral Roll!
Discussion
Hi all,
Posting on behalf of my cousin. A few years back he had a big falling out with his parents, and went to go live with his girlfriend and her parents.
Her parents charged him £x rent a month, but I don't think it's actually all above board, as they won't put him on the Electoral roll. Now, he is saving for a mortgage, and his credit score is pretty poor. He wants to go on the electoral roll, but is worried about any potential comeback - GF's parents are on benefits.
Aside from that, once he is on the electoral roll, how is he going to explain the big gap?
What is his best option here? I advised him to just do it and let them deal with any issues it throws up, but he wasn't keen on that idea!
Thanks
