anyone here foster?
Discussion
Wifey's sister and her husband used to, soon after James Bulger was killed, as they felt they should do "something". They emergency fostered for 10 years, kids who were seriously damaged. In the end they gave up because : a) husband decided to work in a deaf blind residential school, and b) their youngest was born very autistic, and c) with 4 kids of their own they just didn't have the space, and social services didn't like a child sleeping in the conservatory.

My Wife and I have just started the process.
Very early days yet, only had two home visits so far.
Our first home visit, social worker walks in and spots the cupboard under the stairs. She says "That's a good place to put him when he is naughty!"Very early days yet, only had two home visits so far.
It's been an "interesting" year for me.
We don't have kids of our own, so steep learning curve.
